GO GREEN THIS SUMMER WITH A FEW AUTO TIPS

Summer usually brings with it more traffic. The warm weather draws us out and inspires us to explore – to hit the road and see where it takes us. With the increases in traffic and the return of nice weather, Clay Cooley Chevrolet of Dallas would like to offer a few green auto tips that will help you lower your mark on the environment.

#1 Use chemical-free cleaners.

In the summer, we explore and our vehicles get dirty. Some of us clean our cars regularly and some of us let the dirt accumulate. For those that clean, try to avoid the car washes and wash your vehicle yourself. You’ll not only save money in the long run but you’ll also be helping the environment. Automatic car washes use hard chemicals.

#2 Car pool to work.

While many of us enjoy scenic drives and want to be the one driving on road trips, let’s be honest, many of us don’t always enjoy driving to work. Consider taking turns driving to work, either with your significant other or a co-worker. You’ll share the burden of the less exciting drive and lower your carbon footprint at the same time.

#3 When you drive, slow down.

Once most cars and trucks hit 60 mph they begin to burn extra fuel. If you can avoid going over 60 mph on the highway then it will translate into gas and money savings in the long run.
